Human body has a lot of complexity, planes of human motion helps in confronting thisand also performing analysis of the body movement. This analysis is determined by the joint; however the motion is only associated with the three body planes which includes;Motion which involves forward and backward movements is known as Sagittal plane. This plane goes via the center of the body, and as a result the motion is either front to back or back to front, and even the straight forward running. Examples of exercise which can be termed as Sagittal are;a. like sit-ups
b. back extensions
c. Biceps curls. The second body plane is Frontal plane motion, which involves body movements from left to right as in side bends and sideways raises, example of frontal plane includes; picture jumping jacks for a good image of movement along the frontal plane. The third body movement is Transverse plane motion which is somehow difficult one to be aware of because the plane is horizontal as it separates the top from the bottom, thus it's hard to get our heads around it being a rotating action. The most important thing to recall is the rotation. To demonstrate clear understanding of transverse plane, we can imagine the overhead diagonals with a medicine ball, where transverse activity is swinging a golf club.
