The next day is probably inevitable and the changes that come with it will have to be embraced in one way or the other. The fact that the next day also marked the begging of another season made it more spectacular according to Homers and he also longed to see Sandra.

Homers one day woke up to find Mrs. Thymes alone, admiring the captivating calmness of the lake. This gives Homers a sense of calmness and eternal peace. This makes him appreciate Sandra more and to feel a peaceful and calm when around her. Latter in the day Homers and his friend Fred take a wild drive with a motor boat around the lake. The fact that the lake is unaffected by their enthusiasm only makes Homers realize that Sandra will always be there for him no matter what happens.

The names of the characters in the story represent the situations that one goes through in life.  Sandra’s name translates to beauty and a girl with elegance and this is probably why Homers admires her so much. Homer gets his name as one that is held hostage by the cycles of life. The name Thymes means spice and this is evident especially at the scene where she gives the impression of calmness and peace at the lake while the Dewitt boys means the boys of the white one.
