Facial Expression

Facial expression of actors in the play exudes confidence and the palace authority. For instance, Bernardo’s rhetoric usurps authority over Francisco in his face when he asks ‘Who’s there?’ to which Francisco answers with humility ‘Nay answer me. Stand, and unfold yourself’ (p2. 5). The actors facial expression in the entire play also reveals a change from tranquility to anger, and lastly to the declaration during the course of the scene. In his facial appearance the duke involuntarily reveals his surprise over the depth of love. During this period the duke is seen musing while his eyes open twice as far as they had, he raises his head, poses in a completely erect manner and is no longer depicting physical deference to the captain.
