I. Potential Injuries at the Workplace.

II. Burns at the Workplace

Burns can be chemical and thermal. Chemical burns to the hands and face (less often - other parts of the body) can be caused by the rough handling reactive chemicals - acid and alkali solutions by splashing them during the transfusion, movement or damage to the vessel. Burns are very painful and require urgent medical care. Especially dangerous are the eye burns if splashed corrosive liquids. Burns are caused by some synthetic chemicals - solvents, epoxy curing agents, etc.
Thermal burns are most common in industries related to the melting and casting of metals, welding and brazing, heat treatment of metals. Burn hazard occurs during heating and transfusion insulating varnishes and compounds, cable, mastics, and in the manufacture of products made of molten glass during firing porcelain and other ceramic materials.
