In its view, the Franklin's Autobiography shows the 18th century to be a period of enlightenment in the Americas. Mr. Franklin and others such as Thomas Jefferson were the very writers of the American declaration of independence. The autobiography can be claimed to refer to Franklin's Autobiography as the man hated England and Europe as a whole and was desperate to break from the bonds of their way of life. He wanted to create an America of his own a culture that would free the sons of Americans from following the ways of the Englishmen.
The text shifts its audience from his beloved son, to the entire American nation. The change in attention involves anybody else willing to learn from the life of franklin’s man.
Benjamin Franklin is one of the most highly regarded founding fathers of the United States of America. Franklin is referred to as the author and the very first man to live the American dream. To many Americans he is the man who gave meaning to the words the American dream. He is a man whose way of thinking is entrenched within the American way of life until this day. He is a man who believed in one chasing his own freedoms and liberties.
Franklin is in the light of a caring father in his writing categorically stating that the writing was for his son so he could learn how to live well from his father’s life experience. As a founding father of the American civilization, he was against slavery and it could be seen in his way of life he might have been a slave owner but his believe in self-actualization and freedom were signs that he was against it.
His emphasis on selfhood illuminates the ideas of romanticism and enlightenment that were ongoing during the 18th century. He was a firm believer in the now called self-actualization where every person is responsible for themselves under a community that gives liberties and freedoms to all. The constitution only provides for our freedoms and liberties it is up t us to practice them.
Benjamin does show humor at the conclusion of his writing in my opinion he does so to show that every person has something to be happy for even at the end of a life there exists a thought to make one happy.
Eventually, all he argued against slavery on many fronts an economic a cultural and on human dignity, ultimately in my view his change of attitude towards the blacks was due to his attendance of a school for the blacks when he saw that the blacks were just as good as the white children. It becomes clear and evident that Mr. Franklin was a man worth looking up to. Franklin was a man who gave meaning to the words the American dream. He is a man whose way of thinking is entrenched within the American way of life until this day.
