Jeffersonian Revolution

The Jeffersonian Revolution marked the first time in American history when power shifted from one party to another. Jefferson deemed the transfer of power as a revolution because he intended to govern the country as envisioned by its founding fathers. He wanted to ensure that the government became fully decentralized. This became known as the ‘Jeffersonian principles of governance’. The elections in that year led to the emergence of a two party system in the country. The move seemed unrealistic to the Republicans and the Federalists. The move by John Adam has led America into a war with France that made Jefferson believe that they were drifting away from the democratic principles of the country.

Chapnick, G. (2013, February 21). Revolutionary war primary source documents. Retrieved from The American Colonist's Library: http://personal.pitnet.net/primarysources/

The site collects all the relevant information on the presidency of all the United States’ presidents and the history of the country. The site is a primary source of information and material regarding the history of the country. It provides unbiased educative information regarding the presidency of Thomas Jefferson, as it writes down events prior to the revolution period, during and post the revolution period. The legitimacy of the source seems genuine because it is a historical site used by the congressional library and many learning institutions. It gathers all the relevant information regarding the history of the country.

Adams, H. (1930). History of the United States of America during the administration of

Thomas Jefferson. New York, NY: Routledge.

The book discusses the United States during the administration of Thomas Jefferson by analyzing how his administration changed the course of the country’s history. The book is educational because it provides the actions of the President during his tenure. The book seems biased since it tries to place a lot of emphasis on the character of Jefferson by analyzing more on his strengths as an administrator. I like it as a source as it offers an insight into the administration of Jefferson from the point of the revolution and even post revolution times.
