Pulp Fiction

The design of any movie describes the flow of events in a manner that the audience is intended to understand. The narration framework of any literal work whether it is a novel, movie, or play can be subdivided into three parts: the confliction, setting and the solutions. The setting introduces the actors and explores their character. In the resolution, the main problem on which the story line of the literature (in this case the film) is driven is analysed.

Every narration is either made on a linear or non-linear structural framework. Non-linear stories do not flow in a straight line, step a time style, but in most of the cases, the story’s ending comes at either the beginning or the middle of the movie. In a linear frame work of art, the story flows, in chronological order. The movie pulp fiction of 1994 is an example of non-linear design of a film. The movie is built on three short story lines, upon which the movie story line is unfolded. (Tarantino 1995)

One element of composition in pulp fiction was the music. The movie producer Tarantino made use of electronically assorted songs from various singers. Some of the songs in the film include; Misirlou by Dale, a song that opens the credit session. Tarantino choice of surf songs is grounded on reasons such as scores on the movie rock and roll Morricone and spaghetti music of the western world. Most of the soundtracks to the movies are suggestions from Boyd Rice who was introduced to this by Allison. Misirlou was a Boyd idea. Chuck Kelly and Lovelace were the music consultants in this movie and the music directors. Lovelace was acted as the waiter called Laura in the movie.

The design in the movie is nonlinear. This ensures that a connection between the three stories making up this movie exists. The narration in pulp fiction movie was structured that way to be able to have a single movie, based on three lives. There is a relationship between the unlinearity of the design and the narration in the pulp fiction.
