Conservation of the Environment Species

Environment is essential in the ecosystem, where lives depend on it. The question, thus, comes on how relevant is it to take care and conserve the environment? This is what we have to explore by looking at the effects and the possible solution to the problems. In most cases, the human beings are in charge of the environment than any other creature in the face of the earth. This makes the human race as the sole controller of the activities that affect all creatures and the ecosystem. It is, thus, evident that the human races destroy or conserve the environment in one way or other. These activities may include poaching, extreme hunting, destruction of forests, and pollution of the water reserves, just to mention a few.

Proposal

My research is based on the concern about continuous extinction of the creatures on the face of the earth. Once the beautiful creatures are extinct, it makes it unattractive in general, and the effects of it are also felt in the ecosystem. It is with this concern that the public has to know the facts and be educated on the need to conserve the environment well for the mutual benefit of all. This research clarifies how the creatures are extinct day by day also gives some guidelines on how to avoid the destruction activities. More support is needed to help secure the rare creatures for the sake of the future generations. The country is also bound to be clarified rich, when it has the natural beauty, which directly attracts foreign currencies through tourist activities.

Body

Major human activities destroy the environment and end up putting the animal species at risk. The first focus is on the hunting activities which are done on water. In Japan, most fishermen do hunt the blue-fin tuna and the dolphin to be used for making stews in the restaurants. This type of activity is extremely profitable since most people in the hotels prefer to have these stews. It thus makes it hard to reduce or regulate this hunting procedure since the profits behind it are marvelous. It is; however, hard for people to understand the fact that this hunting destroys the species and hence leading them to extinct. Determining the exact numbers of the fish in the sea is hard, thus making it even more sophisticated to tell how many are left is another problem. The reality comes, when this type of fish is extinct.

Hunting down the blue-fin tuna and the dolphins does not stop there. The ecosystem becomes incomplete and, as a result, more creatures end up dying.. It is advised to have a limit on how many species could be hunted every day. This has to begin from trying to figure out the rough estimate of the creatures, then their breeding ratio. After all these analysis, one can then know the exact number of fish to be hunted. The human race can also participate in reducing the hunting of large fish in water through adopting the use of alternative foods that supply the body with enough proteins. Anti-hunting campaigns are also necessary to help save the endangered species from getting extinct in the near future. Strict rules have to be implemented to regulate the hunters so that the greed of making extra profits at the expense of the species are reduced (Lovelock 2007).

The next activity that leads to the extinction of the animal species is the degradation of the environment. This field is wide, starting from the deforestation, pollution of water, and oil pollution. Deforestation activities are majorly done by paper industries that use natural trees for making paper. This massive cut of trees exposes the animals that dwell in the forests and, thus, put them at the limelight of being killed. Some creatures, such as the giraffes, do depend purely on the leaves for feeding since they are browsers. Lack of enough trees will put them at the verge of starvation and hence death. More activities have been done in the forest, such as deforestation for the purpose of getting land for farm activities, which are dangerous to the environment.

Most of these trees are essential for soil fertility. These leaves that are falling to the ground, do decay biologically, and hence making the soil fertile enough. Once the trees have been cut entirely there will be no enough manure on the soil, hence, the creatures that leave on the soil are extinct. The trees have endless advantages to the species lives. These are still the same trees that help in the breathing cycles. Trees supply the ecosystem with enough oxygen circulation and, as a result, help reduce the excess carbon dioxide in the ecosystem. Deforestation will mean that excess carbon dioxide will be available and, as a result, lead to the direct suffocation. Lack enough trees also means not enough rain. The moisture in the soil will be imbalanced, and creatures in the soil will die. The same trees provide water to the rivers, and when the rain is not enough, the streams and lakes will dry out, hence leading to death of aquatic life. More deforestation can cause drought and, as a result, a desert. Few creatures can stand the drought, and most of them die (Greenpeace International 2009).

There are, however, means of regulating deforestation activities in the ecosystem. This has to start from forming the environmental, regulatory bodies that control and conserve the environment, such as the one based in New York. People can minimize deforestation by adopting modern forming techniques, such as irrigation, green plant systems and seasonal agriculture. Charcoal use is also discouraged and, as a result, uses of alternative energy sources such as the biogas.
