Similarities

The two concepts are similar in some way since they are all processes requiring action. This means that they have a set of sequential procedures. At the same time, the procedures are different. Research process is different from nursing process since the purpose of each is different. Nursing process is specifically carried out to plan and provide unique health care to clients using existing knowledge. The knowledge is usually obtained through the research process. Therefore, the research process is aimed at generating new knowledge. When it comes to implementation, the research process is more rigorous than the nursing process. As a result, many students fear the research process (Kozier et al. 2004). The outcomes of the two are also different. The results of the research process are simply generation of knowledge whereas in nursing process, they include changes and maintenance of patients, families, and the health of the community at large.
