My Experience in Stress Resolving Situation

Life is full of experiences some that people wish that lasted forever while others people wondered how they found themselves there. In deed life is full of ups and downs and mine was no different, I was faced by the most stressful experience that almost made me give up in life. Luckily, I was able to pick up the pieces and move on after the traumatizing experience.

It all started when I was 20 and the civil war in my republic Tajikistan began since some ethnic groups felt oppressed and neglected by the national government. The streets of cities were invaded by fighting groups and there was no peace in the land. At that time I had just given birth to my 6 months old baby. This bundle of joy was now engulfed in a state of stress and no peace given the terrible conditions that were present. Bombings were happening every minute and one would always thank God for being alive every minute. The sounds of guns being fired all over were also stressful.

We lived with no basic necessities such as food, clean water, and gas; in addition there was no electricity supply in the houses we were living in. This meant that we would go hungry for days with no food and I would only use breast milk to feed my baby. This was quite stressful since I was not feeding properly and the conditions of hygiene were low. More terrifying was that we used to see dead bodies lying at the backyard and this would really traumatize our minds.

It was during the winter season and hence very cold, with no electricity the heater would not be on and with no gas it was very difficult to make the room warm. This was really bad for my new born baby given her delicate nature. This happened during my final exam week of my 4th year graduation in the university. This was stressful since I never knew the certainties of concluding my exams if the civil war continued.

However, this did not deter me in living; despite all odds I was able to overcome the stressful situation. I was able to safely move to a friend’s house, where we used to cook outside on the fire. I was also very careful with my baby and ensured I gave it the best care it needed to survive. I also studied very hard for my final exams and above all I passed the final exams with A’s. My baby is my greatest inspiration since it reminds me of the stressful situation we went through and conquered.
