During my time at American University of Kuwait, I got involved in various extra curricular activities. I also acquired various skills and working experiences from the activities that I got involved. Since high school, I have always been athletic and hence my involvement in several sports. I joined various sporting activities that include basketball, Varsity volleyball, and track and field. My interest in sports led to my inclusion in the school’s first teams. This enabled me to be a dependable team player, and at the same time improving my social skills.
For two years, I worked at a summer camp in Kuwait that dealt with under privileged children. The experience taught me how to work towards improving the society without motivation from finances. Later, I worked at The Sultan Center Food Products Co. KSC, which is a dynamic organization operating in the Middle East. The company incorporates diverse investment of several successful companies operating in the region. I worked in the company’s marketing department and the main goal involved strengthening the company’s brand image. In order to attract more investors, we had to research the market and improve the company’s image. We did this by using several campaigns to create awareness, and placed adverts. This taught me professional communication skills, which are extremely important in the field. The skills are crucial in addressing prospective and current customers professionally. Good communication skills from members of an organization also lead to an improvement in the company’s image.
My experience in The Sultan Center gave me a deeper insight on how to handle office work professionally. It was a learning experience for me, and since I am a team player working in the company awesome.
