1) Evaluate the socio-economic effects of the New Deal and its legacy to American history.

Year 1937

The new deal requires the analysis of President Roosevelt. Ha had impeccable leadership qualities because they were unparalleled. The FDR saved the democracy for America and the entire capitalism spirit. It preserved the free market economy. Industry nationalization became null and void. Social Security created social safety that dimmed the European standards. Roosevelt’s mastery of the Radio brought in media freedom. However his prudency was dogged with the imperialism (MCC 2002).

The new deal created jobs with the stock market properly monitored to prevent any collapse. Social welfare programs that helped the less fortunate in the society were created. Powerful unions emerged to protect the workers.

The New deal did not achieve most of its goals. In 1939, the unemployment rate still stood at 19 %. The debt to the country doubled within two years. The gap between the rich and the poor widened towards the end of the period.

2) The lingering consequences of the Treaty of Versailles that gave rise to the dictatorships of the Axis powers.

From 1919 to 1933

The Treaty of Versailles triggered a lot of reactions in the political arena. The government was forced to resign after declining to sign it. The New government had to sign it. They believed the politicians had lost the war at the expense of the army (Kennedy 2004).

A number of people distrusted the Republic of Weimer. This led to the development of the uprisings like the Kapp Putsch and the Munich Putsch. The trial of Kaiser never took place as the Dutch refused to fish him out. With this the Monarchy in Germany had no chance of survival. Germany was isolated in Western Europe.

3) The evolution of events that brought the U.S. into World War II (note the theme of “God-given freedoms for all people”).

From 1939 to 1945

The World War 2 came with the development of Axis powers and the Allied powers. The political and economic instability in Germany led to the sparkling of war. The Versailles pact had very harsh and complicated requirements led to the development of the war (Doenecke 2011).

The rise to power of Adolph Hitler where he formed alliance with Japan and Italy to resist the Soviet Union prompted other countries to join the war. The availability of weapons like the Nuclear power and missiles encouraged America to join the war.

4) The socio-economic and cultural impact of World War II on U.S. society.

From 1939 to 1945

The United Nations was established to foster discipline among members and to prevent any further conflicts. Many lives were lost where more civilians died as compared to the army men. Roosevelt’s reactions were seen as a deception to the American people.

5)  World War II’s legacy to American history, including its social, economic, political, and cultural impacts.

From 1939 to 1945

The United States emerged as a super power with victory over Germany, Japan and their Allies. United Nations was established to foster discipline among members and to prevent any further conflicts (Beddingfield 2009). Many lives were lost where more civilians died as compared to the army men. Roosevelt’s reactions were seen as a deception to the American people.
