The scarecrow was appealing to look at and one could think that it was real. It is the first character that comes along Dorothy on her way along the yellow brick road. The scarecrow represents the farmers from the western country. It appeared helpless because it has no brain but at last, it was the best in giving ideas on how to solve problems among the four people travelling along the yellow road. "All the same," said the Scarecrow, "I shall ask for brains instead of a heart; for a fool would not know what to do with a heart if he had one" (Baum 120).

The tin woodman was also another character who was travelling along the road to see the wizard. Rust covers his entire body and he too like the others encounters neglect from his friends. "Oh, I see;" said the Tin Woodman. "But, after all, brains are not the best things in the world."
Have you any?" enquired the Scarecrow.
No, my head is quite empty," answered the Woodman; "but once I had brains, and a heart also; so,
having tried them both, I should much rather have a heart." he is not able to move from one point to another and this prevents him from reaching his goals. He represents the servant who worked in the industries and received inhumane treatment from his employer. The scarecrow throughout out the journey helps him. He could not do anything on his own. This shows the good cooperation between famers and other labors. Later, there was a party that belonged to the farmers and the laborers of the American nation and bore the name Farmer-Labor party, which began in 1918 (Baum118).

Conclusion

Written by Frank Baum in California, the movie "the wizard of Oz depicted various classes of people. Various characters within the movie symbolize different classes of people in the American state. Just the way people see politicians in different views, each of the characters sees the wizard in a different form. After reaching at the wizards place, each of the characters went back with a different view o the wizard. The pretence in politicians is what makes people not to have good decisions when going to the ballot box.
